Grants
The Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East is pleased to support the Greater Hamilton area. All applications will be reviewed, vetted and followed up on by the grants committee unless, you or your organization have already applied for and been denied any funding. If this is the case any further applications will not be considered or responded too.
The grants committee meets once per month from September to June. When applying please be aware that you will receive a written response whether you are granted funds or not, unless the following applies to your application.

- Housing costs
- Rent
- Utilities
- Cable
- Dental
- Eye glasses
- Funeral expenses
- Repeated requests from same individual(s) or organization(s)
- Applications that lack sufficient required information
- Requests to fund third party giving
- The Club must deal directly with the prospective recipient.
- Form letters that are mass mailed
- Any requests to pay for “Rep” sports
- Any person(s) or organization(s) using electronic media to solicit funding
- “gofundme” page as an example
- Grants supporting partisan political agendas or lobbying
- Grants to religious organizations for purely religious purposes
- Fundraising events
- Wage or salary requests
- Other Service Clubs
- Administration Expenses
- Reducing deficits or to retire a debt
- Endowments of other organizations or foundations
- To support the fundraising for National or Provincial groups
- Gives preference to projects that benefit youth from birth to 18 years of age.
- We will also consider help and or support of vulnerable adults
- Projects that are:
- Charitable
- Educational
- Cultural
- Recreational
- Environmental
- Address the underlying causes of problems in our community in innovative ways.
- Realize a significant and sustainable result with a moderate amount of funding.
- Proposals should demonstrate
- Clearly defined and researched need
- Evidence of support from other organizations and/or service groups
- Provision for evaluation
