PURPOSE
The Grant Committee was established to provide financial support to individuals and organizations within the Greater Hamilton Community
PREAMBLE
Since the late 70′s the Grant Committee has recommended support for numerous organizations, associations and agencies such as the Salvation Army, Children’s Aid Society’s, Family Services, Breakfast Programs, the Good Shepherd, Wesley Urban Ministries, Hamilton Food Share, etc. who provide direct support to individuals and groups.
Individuals have also been recipients of our support; sports equipment and/or registration fees, special medical equipment, summer camp, etc.
The aforementioned are but a very few of the numerous examples that have profited from the financial support of the membership of the Club.
Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East Inc does not support residential expenses such as rent or utilities.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
- Interested persons and organizations should put their requests in writing by a letter in order to make application for financial assistance
- Letter of application should be sent by email to info@kiwanishamilton.com or by postal mail to Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East Inc. at 45 Ellis Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario L8h 4L8
- Organizations, associations, agencies, or individuals applying for a community grant must reside in the Greater Hamilton Community
- Committee members will carefully investigate all applications submitted
- After a decision has been reached, the committee will recommend deserving applicants to the Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East Inc Board of Directors’
- The Chairman of the Grant Committee will communicate in writing to both the successful and unsuccessful applicants
The Grant Committee meets every second month throughout the Kiwanis year (January, March, May, July, September, November) and presents a comprehensive report to the Board of Directors’ with rationale and an opportunity to question committee members relative to the reasoning behind the recommendations.
Through well-researched and recommended grants the Club continues to touch the lives of individuals and agencies in our community in a most significant manner.
